Breaks & Closings

The Residence Halls close for the following periods. If you have a GCC related obligation requiring you to stay past the closing date, or return prior to the re-opening date, contact your advisor, coach, or supervisor to discuss your housing needs for break periods. Residents who do not leave by the closing date or return early without written approval may incur a per diem charge for each day they remain on campus during the break.

International students should check their GCC email for important information prior to each break.

Summer Session

All residents are expected to move-out of their assigned space for the summer. Summer housing is available to students enrolled in GCC summer classes at an additional cost, but it may be in a different room than the one they occupied during the academic year. For rates, contact the College Village office at 585-345-6886 or email CollegeVillage@genesee.edu for more information.

If you cannot bring all of your possessions home over summer break, it is recommended that you find a local storage container facility for that period or bring any good condition appliances, items, or non-perishable foods to the SWAP SHOP in the Root, available during the month of May.

For information on the Check-Out process visit www.gccvillage.com/check-out or email CollegeVillage@genesee.edu for more information.
